Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox went to the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She was a harpsichord student and flautist piano over three years. Lennox lived on an allowance for students and went on part-time employment to augment her income. Lennox wasn't happy with the quality of her skills compared to other students at Royal Academy and began looking to find alternative routes. Lennox played the flute in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. She left the band before the band went to I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. The singer was lead vocalist for The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977-1980. That was also where she got to know Dave Stewart with whom she formed the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox was working on her own debut record Diva. It came out in 1993. In both commercial terms and critically it was a huge achievement. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October 2014. This C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs favorite blues and soul jazz songs from her childhood. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox has released Lepidoptera a collection of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. The E.P. is her debut solo album, and is a sequel to the art installation she created at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You Go... The Tourists gained some minor recognition for her and Dave Stewart's work during the 1970s. The group went on in the 1980s, to become the popular duo Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo musical career in 1992, by releasing an album titled Diva. It featured many well-known songs, including the hit song Walking On Broken Glass and What's the Matter with You. Medusa the album from 1995 studio has version covers of No MoreI Love Yous or The Whiter Shade of Pale. Her six studio solo albums as well as her compilation album have a lot of songs. |
