Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair was five years old at the time she became the first child actress to get a role in The Exorcist. She had previously worked as a model over 3 years, and was then cast as the child possessed, Regan. Linda Blair rose quickly to notoriety and was awarded the Golden Globe. She was scheduled to be awarded an Academy Award. But when the news leaked out that a few part of her roles were recorded and that a stunt-dummy played just eight seconds, the whole idea fell apart. In the following years, she was able to secure lead roles in a number of films, among them her highly successful television movies Born Innocent (1974) (the #1 TV movie of that year) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) and the Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). However, when she was pushed by her peers into buying cocaine at the age of 18 years old, it resulted in being arrested and later sentenced to three years probation. Linda's career within Hollywood had been reduced to B films, and occasionally appearances on television after her highly-publicized arrest in connection with drug possession.
